Frequently Asked Questions
Bamboo is breathable and naturally temperature-regulating, so it keeps kids cool on warm nights and holds warmth when it's cold — no need to switch out their whole wardrobe with the seasons. It's also naturally hypoallergenic and soft enough for sensitive skin and babies, which is part of why so many families tell us these have become the only pyjamas their child will wear.
Hot tip: if your little one runs warm, skip the extra blanket and use a bamboo or linen duvet cover on its own as a lightweight top sheet — it's the easiest fix for a kid who kicks off everything else.
We spent longer than we'd like to admit on details most people won't consciously notice, but their kids will feel. Buttons are backed in fabric, so there's nothing hard sitting on the chest. The elastic waistband is soft and forgiving rather than tight. Care labels are printed directly onto the fabric instead of stitched in, so there's no scratchy tag at the neck — the fire safety label is the one exception, that's a legal requirement, not us being lazy.
The fabric is 95% bamboo viscose and 5% spandex, which gives it real stretch and flexibility for kids who move around all night — and unlike a lot of stretch fabrics, it doesn't lose that stretch over time. Wash after wash, it holds its shape instead of going loose and baggy.
Bamboo is one of the most sustainable fabrics available — it grows fast, needs almost no water, and doesn't require pesticides. We also use compostable garment bags and recyclable mailers, and we work with a small, OEKO-TEX certified manufacturer rather than mass-producing. It's a slower way to run a pyjama brand, but it's the only way we're interested in doing it.
We didn't set out to make "sensory pyjamas" — we set out to make pyjamas without the things that annoy most kids: rough tags, stiff seams, buttons that dig in. It turns out that's exactly what a lot of sensory-sensitive kids need too, which is why we hear from parents whose child won't wear anything else. If your child struggles with textures, seams or scratchy tags, this is worth trying. Ours reviews so far are small but we're already punching above our weight.
Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, skip the fabric softener and bleach, and air-dry where you can — bamboo holds its softness far longer than cheap cotton if you treat it gently. Not sure on sizing? Check our Size Guide — when in doubt, size up, they'll grow into it.
Here are some tips:
- Wash your bamboo pyjamas in cold water to prevent shrinkage and fading.
- Avoid using fabric softener or bleach, as these can damage the bamboo fabric.
- Air-Dry your bamboo pyjamas to prevent shrinkage.
- Iron or your bamboo pyjamas on a low heat setting to prevent scorching or use a garment steamer on low and watch any wrinkles disappear faster than cotton!
